A VPN encrypts traffic between your device and the VPN server, reducing what a local network or ISP can read about that traffic. Websites, account providers, and the VPN service may still identify you.
A VPN location can change the region suggested by your IP address. Services use additional location checks and their own terms, so AstrillVPN cannot guarantee that a website, stream, or account will be available.
On public Wi-Fi, a VPN encrypts traffic between your device and the VPN server. This reduces local network exposure but does not prevent unsafe downloads, phishing, malware, or tracking by sites you use.
AstrillVPN can encrypt traffic in transit to the VPN server when a supported protocol is active. A VPN is not antivirus software and does not prevent phishing, malicious websites, or compromised devices.
A VPN can hide encrypted traffic contents and destinations from an ISP, but the ISP can still see VPN use and data volume. AstrillVPN cannot prevent congestion or every form of traffic management.
If AstrillVPN lists a Norway location, connecting through it can give you an IP address that appears Norwegian. Websites, streams, and banking services may detect VPN use or apply other checks, so access is not guaranteed.
